Rural Internet

Post by dwellonroof »

I'm having problems with my set up maybe someone here can direct me.
I have BI v5 with it's own licence key on an old computer 30 miles away, I have it hooked to a Netgear cellular modem (LB1120) on att network and Asus router, everything is working ok except when I set it up in my iOS app it will connect if I'm next to the wifi but will not outside or with wifi off on my cell phone. Everything is typed in correctory but no connection outside network but I can connect to my other licenced BI computer at home just fine.
Is it because I'm using a hotspot for internet or??

Just a guess, but this sounds like it might be an issue with port-forwarding; that is, you may need to forward a port in your router so that outside connections from the app are allowed.

Just a guess, but this sounds like it might be an issue with port-forwarding
and domain name resolution.
