I changed to run as a service, entered the Windows password.
When restarting BI I'm asked for the credentials, but it's not accepted. I'm and administrator and I'm sure I use the correct password.
Have tried with both my windows username and LocalSystem.
And both BlueIrisAdmin.exe and BlueIris.exe.
Login prompt when BI starts, username/password not accepted
Re: Login prompt when BI starts, username/password not accepted
Try setting the password for the user to some simple text to see if that resolves the issue, I seem to recall reading ages ago that BI didn’t like some of the more stranger/special characters that Windows allows.
Also when you set BI to run as a service did you use the same username/password that you used when you installed BI?

Re: Login prompt when BI starts, username/password not accepted
Many thanks.
Yes, I do have a special character in my MS account password, but would rather not change it since I will not be allowed to set it back to the same again after having solved the BI login problem.
Is there any way I can be able to log into BI without loosing all my BI configuration data?
Registry edits etc.?

I think so, but I'm not absolutely sure. I only have one user at this computer. Also when you set BI to run as a service did you use the same username/password that you used when you installed BI?

Appears that a solution was posted here in the form of an image.
Which has been lost in a forum crash...
(I found that the MS account only remembers the last 5 passwords so I changed it to something without special characters, but that did nor change anything)

Why would changing the password lose all your config?
If you type services.msc from the Run command you check the Blueiris service to see what creds it’s using.
Re: Login prompt when BI starts, username/password not accepted
Sorry, I meant to say without uninstalling Blueiris and install it again from scratch. Why would changing the password lose all your config?
Thanks. It runs under my local account (username). But all other processes on the computer are under Local Service. If you type services.msc from the Run command you check the Blueiris service to see what creds it’s using.
I tried to change BlueIris to run under Local Service, but that didn't make any difference. Still can't log in.
I'm using the same password for my local account and my MS account.
Could it be related to that I log into Windows with my MS account?
Re: Login prompt when BI starts, username/password not accepted
That could be it, as far as I know BI requires a local account.
Not too sure where you go from here as you typically need to login using the same account as you did the install.
You could try creating a local account and see how far you get? Not something I’ve ever tried so can’t advise beyond that, hopefully someone here has had the same or can confirm if you can use the MS account login?

Re: Login prompt when BI starts, username/password not accepted
I only use local accounts. MS makes it harder every Windows installation I do. I can't see any reason I would want my BI5 server to be hooked up to the net any more than it already is.

Re: Login prompt when BI starts, username/password not accepted
I have to use MS account.
But now I made a restore point and deleted BlueIris. Then deleted all registry entries and leftover files.
Installed BlueIris. And again I'm asked to login....
It's not listed in services.msc.
