Record mode

Post by louyo »

In my alleged mind, it seems like a choice used to be continuous plus alerts/motion.
Now, I see continuous-sub which means it only records with sub stream resolution unless there is an alert.
Did that change some time back or am I just wrong (as usual).

I was right, back at 5.7.1.3, it was continuous and Alerts. Didn't try any other versions.
Choice:
1. Go back to latest level that supports continuous and alerts. Not sure how that would affect AI.
2. Live with substream resolution on continuous.
3. Clone cameras I want continuous at better resolution
4. cry.

Found this in the BI help file, no idea if it helps?

5.4.6 - May 17, 2021
As requested by several customers, a continuous + triggered recording mode is now offered
separately from the continuous + alerts mode. This mode ensures that the main stream is
also recorded for canceled alerts as well as confirmed alerts.

Even an old dog can learn new stuff. I submitted a feature request for Continuous plus Alerts as well as Continuous sub plus Alerts.
Ken replied, explaining that selecting Continuous alone also records Alerts. That seems to be the same as the old Continuous plus Alerts. Maybe it was always that way.
Thanks for the explanation Ken.
