Issue with Hikvision DS-2CD6D54G1-IZS PanoVu & Blue Iris

Post by wernerradio »

I’m trying to interface a Hikvision DS-2CD6D54G1-IZS PanoVu with my Blue Iris system. This camera has four lenses, each on a different feed. I am not able to get a clean, useable feed from this camera to Blue Iris. This is what I get:

What I’ve tried:

1. Installed the latest firmware on the camera
2. Have changed between h264, h264+, h265+ and h265 with no difference
3. Installed a (demo) copy of Blue Iris on another computer with just the camera in question setup and have the same issue
4. Compared settings to the numerous other Hikvision cameras I have and everything looks comparable with the new one I am installing
5. If I try the rtsp feed on VLC on both my main DVR computer and the computer I installed the demo for testing, it has NO issue accessing the camera’s feed, no glitches
6. I’ve tried both http and rtsp in Blue Iris, no difference
7. Evaluated CPU and Memory usage - 8% CPU and 573mb RAM in use.
8. Setup iSpy Connect software and connected to the same camera. Works perfect. Same cameras continually glitch, pixelate, and occasionally give "NO signal" error in Blue Iris. Have these both on the same computer.

I have dozens of other HikVision cameras with no issue. Has anyone else had a similar issue? What have you done to rectify it? Thanks.

Hi,

1. Are you using base settings for H264/H265 ? (Not H264+ etc)
2. What are your i-frames set to, and what does BI5 show they are set to ?

Cameras 1 & 2 use the first set of settings (H265) and Camera 3 & 4 use H264.

I know that support regularly tell us that the "key" (I-frame) should be 1, and maybe down to 0.5, so I think yours are set too low. Can you try changing I frame interval to get it to 1 (in BI5) on the worst camera and see if it helps ?

Thanks for the suggestion. That seems to have made it worst.

So with BI5 settings for FPS/Key showing 10/1 it is worse ?

Try doubling your max bitrate.

Correct. Pixilation is happening more often and I get a sporadic No Signal message popping up here and there.
