Record Dual Streams if Available setting

Post by bigbillsd »

I use the continuous recording for all my cameras which makes fairly large files so I am thinking of unchecking this new setting to save disk space so I can keep files longer. I want to make sure I am not shooting myself in the foot doing that. Any ideas? I was using v4 for a pretty long time and I don't think it had that feature and never had an issue. Let me know if I am being stupid and why. Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill,

It sounds logical, but there isn't any info in the help file to make an informed decision. Can you ask support and let us know the response ? You are correct that BI4 didn't have the feature, as it only worked with one stream per camera.

Do any of your cameras do H265 ? That gave me an increase in time for storage compared to H264.

Unfortunately all my cameras are h264 based. Support is extremely slow, usually a week to get back to me. Started coming here, but maybe this isn't frequented by folks in the know either. -Bill
