5.1.0.1 - System tray icon missing?

Updated from 5.1.0.0 to 5.1.0.1.

I noticed that the System tray icon was missing when BI was minimized.
Yes, the option was enabled in BI Settings 'Startup' tab. I tested by unchecking and checking it again to see if the option was reset by the update.

I restored back to 5.1.0.0, and the icon is back.

Anyone else having this issue?

I have just updated, the tray icon is there it is just invisible.
I hovered my cursor over the area and a blank area highlighted where the BI icon should be.

I am also encountering this issue since updating to v5.1.0.1 x64. The Blue Iris icon in the System Tray is present, but invisible. If I roll back my version to an earlier version, then the Blue Iris icon properly appears in the System Tray. This problem can not be fixed by deleting the IconCache.db file in the folder %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local and restarting your PC. This was the standard fix for blank icons in Windows 7/8/10. While this appears to be cosmetic in nature, I still reported it to Blue Iris support. I recommend others do the same.

Out of curiosity, how does one roll back to a previous version? It's mentioned on pg 165 in the manual, but there are no specifics on how to actually do it.

When the Blue Iris app updates to a newer version either automatically or manually, it downloads Update.exe to either C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\TEMP or C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5. If you rename the older Update.exe file before updating to a newer version, you can use the older Update.exe to rollback your version of Blue Iris to the previous version.

I wrote a batch file utility that looks for Update.exe in the folders C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp or C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5 or C:\Program Files (x86)\Blue Iris 5 and copies it to include the version and bit architecture to the folder %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Blue Iris\Archives. This utility is called ArchiveBI5.cmd and can be run manually or scheduled by Windows Task Scheduler to archive Blue Iris 5 update executables.

I received a reply from support today informing me that they are aware of the bug and a fix will come by the end of the week.

(And to revert to the slight thread hijack) Another tool to make it easier to revert to known good version of BI is BIUpdateHelper. It runs as a service and offers a few other nice solutions as listed here https://github.com/bp2008/biupdatehelper.

Ooh contentious  Pass the popcorn !

WmG: Does this tool work well with BI5 ? It appears to be for BI4.
