Hello,

I have around 14 cameras today running full resolution (Sub Stream is not an option becuase I need the full queality all the time), but I know I'm going to upgrade to 24 cameras soon.
What type of hardware should I upgrade to for it to be able to run all 24 cameras without using sub streams or dropping the resolution down to far.

What I have now is:
i7-7600k @ 4GHz
32GB Ram
1060 6GB

The CPU is running at a constat 80%-90% and 100% when I open the browser or the GUI software.

Would 8 cores CPU work much better or maybe a Ryzen CPU.

Zoiks ! More Power ?

Have a look here to see what other BI users are using. You could look at your present MP/s and factor it for the new cameras to see which cpu's are coping with it. Lots of info here https://biupdatehelper.hopto.org/default.html#stats

If you are presently using Intel acceleration, then clearly you wouldn't have it with an AMD cpu, but I found a Ryzen 1800x ran my cameras in BI5 at 4% cpu, where the regular BI5 pc with a i5-3330 runs at 16%.

I bought a NZXT Starter Pro to replace my aging desktop that was running BI @ 30-45%.

Now, BI is running between 3% to 5.5%. 3060 Gpu is 2-3%.
For testing, I've also had 3 virtual machines running (Windows 10, Windows 7, UBuntu), AND was playing SC2... with no issues at all.

I... am... sooo... hap-hap-happy.... :D
