IR Cameras

Post by EricP »

Hi,

Is it possible to setup cameras so the IR is off during daylight and only on at night? I don't see anything obvious to set that.

Thanks,

Easy method, if the cameras are outside. If you cameras have Auto-IR, you could enable them and see if that works. If not, you can use BI.

Yes. Using BI, you can set the time to turn the camera IR ON and OFF based on time and sunrise/sunset based on your location, so that the time adjusts to each days changing sunrise and sunset.

1. In the cameras settings, go to 'Schedule' tab and click 'Event Schedule...' near the bottom right.
2. Check 'Enable'.
3. Click 'Add'.
4. Select the time to turn IR ON.
5. 'Click 'relative to sunrise/sunset'.
6. Select 'Function' and choose 'IR LED's On' or 'IR LED's Off'.
7. Click save until you exit. (You may want to export each cameras settings).
8. Repeat steps 1-7 for each camera.

Set your location for sunrise/sunset relative adjustments...
1. Open BI Settings, and click the 'Schedules' tab.
2. Click the 'Google Pin' icon to open Google maps to find your locations Longitude & Latitude. You can zoom in and pan to your exact location. The longitude & latitude will be in the address bar. Enter them in the BI settings Lon/Lat fields.
If you don't see the Google Pin icon, open any web browser and go to Google Maps.
3. You should see two Yellow half-circles at the top of the schedule graphs area. These represent Sunrise and Sunset. They will adjust each day to account for the change in the daily lengths on Day/night. The times in your cameras 'Event Schedule' to turn on/off IR's will also change! Neat, eh?
5. Click 'OK'. Done.
