No BI audio from Amcrest 4K IP camera (live cam page sounds fine)

I have five Amcrest 4K camera and just added a microphone to one of them. Audio playback is fine on the Amcrest camera Live page and the BI clips are tagged with an audio icon but there is no sound in BI. UI3 shows no audio stream and downloaded clips have no audio. This is on a headless BI5 machine using RDP to configure it. Below are screenshots of the relevant configurations and I have tried for hours now. How do I enable audio?

I don't have Amcrest cameras but with my Dahua setup either with the make as Dahua or Generic/ONVIF RTSP I left the audio path blank and set the format to 64 kbps G.711 a-law and audio works on all of my cameras that have a Mic built in. I haven't ever hooked a Mic up manually though and I think some of those require power separate from the camera.

Hearing audio through UI3 only works on certain browsers like it works on one browser on Android but not on any browser I've tried on iOS. The Blue Iris app always seems to work and give audio as long as the headphone icon is green.

Have you enabled Audio in the BI Setting/Audio tab?

Is audio enabled properly in the BI Settings Webserver tab?
Click the 'Advanced' button, then the Encoder 'Configure' tab. Check that the proper audio type is selected, and also the bitrate can be adjusted.

I don't have any audio capture devices but yes I tried turning on Settings/Audio/Enable audio capture, leaving device blank.

Yes the encoding was set to AAC 48kbps, same as IP cam input but it shouldn't matter since it's transcoding audio and video to AAC and h264.

This is on Chrome latest. The IPCam direct live feed and everything else sounds good. UI3 reports "Audio: No" on the cam as seen in screenshot below.

I tried blank path and most types of audio (PCM, G7xx, RTSP). No luck.


Any other ideas? If I can just have UI3 say "Audio: yes" I can probably figure this out.

What other options does the camera web interface have under Audio In Device?

Video path looks the same, but Audio path is empty there.
