Constant crashing after 5.0.4.4 update

Today I updated from 5.0.4.3 (I believe) to 5.0.4.4 and now my BI will only run for a few seconds before crashing. This is on Windows 10 Pro Version 1903. The Windows event log shows the following fault.

The same happens running as a Windows service or as a standalone application.

I found an older post where this was happening on a 4.x version and the suggestion was to reinstall BI. I tried that but it made no difference.

I’ve also been searching for a previous version of 5.0.4.x but not had any luck finding anything on the BI page.

Anybody else seeing this?

Ok, FINALLY figured it out! I had to disable "Send rich push (3D) notifications" under the push notification I had configured in my Status Alerts > Action Set. I have no idea how this was checked, since (I assume) any Status Alerts would only include text from the log, such as Warnings, Errors, etc. My guess is that when I upgraded from BI 4 to 5, the Action Set was created with this set(??). Maybe there is a bug in BI that needs to be filed(?).

Regardless, I wanted to document it here in case anyone else has this happen.

Hi,

I have the same problem with "exception code 0xc0000005" and constant random crashes.
How did you figure out what was wrong?

From what I recall, I just kept changing the profiles until BI would stay up. I have a "no alerts" profile, and it was only when it was enabled did I find that BI wasn't crashing. Once I had that narrowed down, I just went through and disabled the alerts one by one until I found it to be related to the push alert.
