I'm recording full time, with alerts on motion. Currently I have the split setting set to the default.

Is there any reason I shouldn't increase those values to have longer clips, downfalls etc.

I find myself playing a clip and using the slider to scroll thru looking for action. As it is now, I'm only getting 2 hours per clip. (4gb file size) so I have to keep clicking the clips to get thru a day worth of video.

I'm not too worried about copying and exporting. I'll usually select a start and stop frame, then export/re-encode the clip to email or send.

It's just a pain when you don't have a time-frame of when something happened and you have to go thru a bunch of clips to find it. But I'm thinking with a longer file, I'm gonna loose some granularity of the time slider.
