Amcrest NVR - Blue Iris problem

Not sure if a post I wrote earlier went through so I will restate my problem.

I have 4 Amcrest IP turret cameras connected to an Amcrest NVR via Cat6. I know the IP address of the NVR and on the NVR I can see the IP addresses of the 4 cameras. When I try to add a camera to Blue Iris, the only IP address that it will accept is the NVR, and then it only shows one of the cameras (from what I can tell). I’m not sure how to proceed.

Usually, NVR's will have a channel that you would specify for the camera - something like that.

Hi,
Please tell us about your network(s). IP adresses, netmask, gateway.
Are you using DHCP?
What are the 4 cameras IPs? Are they in the same network IP space as your workstation/laptop?
Do you have a setup screen in the NVR similar to the one shown in pic below?

I was looking in the manual for Amcrest Network Video Recorder user manual ver. 1.0.3, revised Oct. 12 2018.
For the moment I will assume your amcrest NVR is similar.

Is your NVR capable of stand alone operation?

The NVR in the manual would appear to be so since it has USB connections(mouse,keyboard) and a VGA & HDMI port.
The NVR in the manual has a lan connection to plug into your existing lan to access it remotely(I'll assume it is connected to the same lan as your computer workstation). The IP can be static or from DHCP.
The NVR in the manual has a POE-switch section on the back where cameras are connected via cat 5e or 6.

There is also a setup screen for the POE switch portion of the NVR(see pic).

I summit that maybe this needs to be setup w/an unused IP in your existing lan. Netmask and gateway should match your existing lan. Then your cameras will be directed to your DHCP server to aquire an IP address on your existing lan. Then BI should be able to see the cameras.

I'll assume your cameras are set to aquire an IP from DHCP server(usually the default)

I don't know your network experience but just in case your just beginning this adventure, consider the following scenario:

Let's pretend your existing lan is: 192.168.0.0/24. (Netmask 255.255.255.0 is the same as the /24 suffix) and you are using DHCP.
You can use any address in the range 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254

Then pretend you router/gateway is 192.168.0.1/24
Your workstation/laptop is 192.168.0.10/24
IPcam1 is 192.168.0.20/24
IPcam2 is 192.168.0.21/24
IPcam3 is 192.168.0.22/24
IPCam4 is 192.168.0.23/24

Leave NVR remote port as is for the moment.

The 'switch' portion of NVR could be static 192.168.0.2/24 or any currently unused IP address in that range.

Everything should be able to communicate in the above scenario.

At this point I will wait for your reply. Without specifics I'm just guessing (and maybe talking to much).

I replied to this thread yesterday, yet I don’t see it so I will repost.

I am using a Netgear Nighthawk R7000
LAN Setup:
IP address: 10.0.0.1
IP Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Use Router as DHCP Server - checked
Starting IP address 10.0.0.2
Ending IP address 10.0.0.254
No Address Reservations

I bel;eive the NVR is capable of standalone. It is directly connected to my router and all the cameras are connected to the NVR via Cat6.
The Amcrest NV2108E-HS 8CH PoE NVR IP Address is 10.0.0.7
IP Cam 1: 10.1.1.65
IP Cam 2: 10.1.1.128
IP Cam 3: 10.1.1.129
IP Cam 4: 10.1.1.130

On the NVR under the tab SWITCH I have
IP Address 10.1.1.1
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 10.1.1.1

Is the LAN on the router supposed to match the NVR Switch or vice versa?

Some Additional Info from the Blue Iris Software
TCP/IP tab
Mode: DHCP
IP version: IPV4
IP address: 10.0.0.7
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.0.0.1
Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4

Connect tab
Max connect: 128
TCP port: 37777
UDP port: 37778
HTTP port 80
RTSP port: 554
HTTPS port: 443

Your 'The Amcrest NV2108E-HS 8CH PoE NVR' is on your network at IP Address 10.0.0.7

The NVR's 4 cameras have IP address of....
IP Cam 1: 10.1.1.65
IP Cam 2: 10.1.1.128
IP Cam 3: 10.1.1.129
IP Cam 4: 10.1.1.130

These are on a different subnet, I believe. Don;t they have to be on the same subnet as your router/gateway?
Can you go into the NVR and specify the IP address/range for the 4 cameras? Can they be DHCP?
