AI Burn in on video files?

Post by JohnnyD »

Hi all

When i look at training videos online, i see clips with the AI object burn in, i have the option Burn onto alert images set, and I see that on the single jpeg alert files, but how do i get it onto the clips that you view in the UI?

That is likely to be a combination of overlays showing macro values that have been dynamically updated with http commands.

That can't be right. There must be a simpler way with BI5 variables :?

OK, I read the help file and found a list of "Additional special macros" from %000 to %P. Here are the first few %000 to %010:

If I enter %000 into overlay "Add text/ time..." it does indeed show my system name in the preview window (and on the image if I OK it):

However %001 to %004 do not work, and it doesn't seem to work properly until you get to %010 and above. The %001 and %002 look very useful to me.

Does anybody know how to use these in overlays ?

What exactly do you want to display?
Using 'Blue Iris Tools' will allow you to use additional macros for overlays by polling you local Weather Underground weather station.

Here's an example of a camera I use to monitor 27/7, weather conditions & heat tape during the winter here in Minnesota.
This is a continuous recording. I can go back at any date/time too see what's happened.
I have the camera looking at one of the monitors that is connected to wireless heat sensors that I've placed in the heat tape and water riser. Then, I've added various overlays that are being updated from 'Blue Iris Tools' which is getting the info from Weather Underground.

I'm trying to get BI5 to show its own variables, and it does almost work. To be able to add the AI identification or the number plate via the overlay would be good. I'm trying to do it without other software. I'll give Ken a prod

Yup

Message sent. I'm noodling and wondering if the missing variables only exist for a short time. Let's see what the Boss says 8-)
