Total Number of Users

Post by secoon »

Hi All,

I am building out a CCTV system for an apartment community and may want to give VIEWING log-ins to residents... Anyone have any idea how many unique users Blue iris can support?

Good question for BI support.

Sounds good in theory.. but...

- Each unit that wanted to participate would need a unique ID & Password. Managing this would be a nightmare... resetting forgotten/locked userid's, deleting old tenants, adding mew tenants.
- You would need to increase the Webserver's concurrent connections to a high/higher value. Any more than a few concurrent connections would spike your cpu/gpu .

Security:
- Tenants would probably share their ID with friends/family.
- If an ID 'got out'... anyone could login.
- Whoever has the ID/password could use the camera for nefarious purposes... keeping an eye on who come/goes... who's not home or home alone.

Liability:
Security cameras can become a liability if everyone in the building can view them.
What happens if someone gets robbed, attacked, injured, as a result of someone else using the security cameras to monitor them?
