5.5.0.7 Update

Post by Thixotropic »

Just installed the 5.5.0.7 update.

Wow, lots of changes to the display, and I'm still figuring out if I can do what I want to do...not sure yet. The display settings are now accessed through the the "Edit layout" icon at the upper right (a pencil & paper icon).

It'd be nice if there was an option to revert to the previous display style. As it is, even after tweaking it seems like I've lost a little bit of display area as the windows are now slightly different sizes.

It would also be nice if you could grab and resize the windows or merge/combine them, but alas, not that I can see. Those were options I was really hoping for. Maybe I just haven't dug deep enough yet.

The CPU usage seems nearly identical, sometimes even a little less at rest (but that may be my imagination).

The Status window is mostly the same with the Deepstack tab.

So far, so good. We'll see how it goes. How is it working for you all?

All would be great if my favorite option did not get moved into very non-intuitive place - right click on camera no longer has "Open in window frame". This is the main reason I bought this software instead of something else.
I saw what you wrote, so went to look at Edit Layout and yep, they moved it there, what a nonsense decision. But if it was made to allow for the same option to work in Remote (previously it was only possible to do in Local), then I guess I will live with it.

Might just be me - but I can seemingly no longer "Move group frame to desktop". Now nothing happens at all when I click that.

I saw that the widgets on Android are now displaying the camera name and thus wasting space (in my case).
I would like to have the option to have it displayed without the camera name header in the widget. Even disabling the camera nake header in the console (where I want to see it) does not disable them on widgets.

I noticed that addition in the UI3 interface but didn't say anything because I wasn't positive if it was new or not. I too would like the ability to remove that banner. I definitely see the need/reason for it but I intentionally add the device name as an overlay to not need that.

I found where to disable the camera header.

In edit layout mode, right click on the camera area, then click on Show camera names.

Thanks! That looks much better (in my situation - to each their own)

Ditto, I just wish I could show borders but ignore the recording border.

I've turned off all border, frames, and names, and I'm able to get 100% fill on my monitor. It's not the same layout as before but it works.

Figured out how to turn off the border color for recording. In the registry under Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Perspective Software\Blue Iris\Options there is borderrecord option.
