Mikelud: So many people CAN install these modules, that I'm thinking I am being blocked. I tried today multiple times but was unable to install. I do have a pihole DNS blocker here, but I haven't had time to investigate.
I will have a go this weekend, but do you have any other idea of why I cannot install ANY of the extra CPAI modules ?

I do not think it is pihole, I am using it also no issues installing the modules. Confirm which version you are on, it should be 2.0.6.
They will be release a new version soon, they are just wrapping up a few things.

Is it worth installing the Background Remover?

I would think that would be a big help in recognizing things and I'm surprised it isn't installed by default, but maybe I don't understand what it's for.

I see that CPAI ver 2.07 is out.

Decisions, decisions...upgrade or put my twitchy trigger finger back in the holster?

Eh, I'll give it a go and see what happens.

EDIT: Well, I upgraded to 2.07 and it's still kinda wonky. And to be clear, I've not installed the graphics card yet.

So...I notice that after a reboot, the BI log says it's started the AI and that it's responding.

The log also shows some AI "not found" entries that are on the order of 15ms or 16ms. That's way too short, and it also doesn't seem to even try to find anything. Looking in the AI tab, no model is shown in the Custom Model field.

Clicking the field button opens a dialog box that says no modules are installed, and prompts you to restart the AI to refresh the list.

If I stop the AI using the "Stop now" button in that tab, the AI appears to stop, freezes the entire screen for several seconds, and then comes back to normal. Unfortunately, one or more of the cameras then appears frozen (it's not) and the interface is hosed- clicking anywhere just mucks the screen up. It looks like it's trying to full-screen a cam, but only the borders or something- it's hard to tell.

If I close the interface and restart it, same thing- the screen looks and acts broken. Only a reboot gets things back to normal.

After a reboot, sometimes when you restart the AI it populates the Custom Model field (in this case with "ipcam-combined") and the detection reporting times go back up to believable numbers (250ms to 500ms).

And it looks like the log and tabs issue is back, where it either won't load the log entries or it take 15 seconds for them to appear. Switching between tabs in the Status Window also take 5 or 10 seconds.

I was running v2.0.6, but it's now v2.0.7 here too. It's 06:00 in the UK, so will check later. What I can report is that I can now install the CPAI modules. The obvious difference is that previously when I clicked the button it stated "unknown" but now it showed "installing" then "installed".
It doesn't mean it's not hosed, but I will check later.

Well with BI5 v5.6.9.4 and CPAI v2.0.7 I now have BI5 reading number plates. I can see it in the DAT file, but it doesn't add it to the log. To be useful, I need to be able to send it to my home automation.

AI settings for this camera are now:

Hmm, rtfm eh ? We already have this:
If you are using license plate recognition, plate numbers may also be added to the AI objects required and skipped boxes. Use the special labels myplates and notmyplates to reference all known or unknown plates as specified on the Settings/AI page.
This might take some time

Hi MikeLud,

I will try that, but the DAT file does show the number plate for my car on the drive with 90%+ certainty and it is correct, it just doesn't propagate any further than that.
