Re: Hiding cameras in plain sight
I purchased a few of these small cameras of which 2 overheated and quit working and the other would never connect to BI Interesting- the ones I worked with got a little warm but not hot. One was in a box with almost no airflow, the other was tucked away under an eave. Still both going strong as far...

Re: Rural Internet
Just a guess, but this sounds like it might be an issue with port-forwarding; that is, you may need to forward a port in your router so that outside connections from the app are allowed. I'm having problems with my set up maybe someone here can direct me. I have BI v5 with it's own licence key on an...

PoE/Wifi Doobell Review
Out of curiosity I bought one of these to test/play with: 2.4GHz WiFi Smart Video Doorbell Full HD Motion Detect Night Vision 2MP RJ45 POE https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-4GHz-WiFi-Smart-Video-Doorbell-Full-HD-Motion-Detect-Night-Vision-2MP-RJ45-POE/183996824744 s-l1600.jpg It cost $62 (after a little ha...

Re: Hiding cameras in plain sight
Some of the pinhole IP cams are very easy to hide. They're thin and have pretty decent image quality. If they're reasonably close to the subject you can get excellent images. The hole they look through is ridiculously small; it's easy to hide it so that you can look right at it and not see it. I don...

Re: Reolink RLC-420-5MP - so far so good
Yep, I did that but the choices are limited. 2560 x 1920 2560 x 1440 2048 x 1536 2304 x 1296 2560 x 1920 is the 'widest' but still not a good aspect ratio. On a lark I got one of these to play with and test: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZYS1TL8/ It claims a 150° wide-angle view which will be...

Re: Reolink RLC-420-5MP - so far so good
After installing these, the main thing I'm not happy about is the limited field of view- maybe 70 or 80 degrees, not nearly wide enough. I'm thinking of relocating them to a higher spot so they can view/capture more area. Also, the image seems square, so maybe I don't have something set correctly. (...
