Time & Date Overlay - Showing on Recordings
Hi When I'm looking at my cameras on my PC there are no overlays set, apart from for two of our cameras, which is the way I set it up. However, now when I view the alerts and save export videos to file the date and time is included in the video for all cameras. I guess this was introduced in a recen...

Is Live Streaming Possible?
Hi We have about 20 IP Cameras watching the wildlife in our garden. Two of them are in a Hedgehog Soft Release Run. Is it possible to provide a live feed from one or both of these cameras from Blue Iris via YouTube or a website? I'm thinking like BBC Springwatch does or am I mad to even consider the...

Re: New Router & Samsung SmartCam help
Quick Update - Got the stream to the camera resolved and ethernet appears to be the way forward! With Ken taking time to help troubleshoot (fabulous service) and giving me some ideas it was a very simple solution in the end. I thought it would be, but was unable to see it through my foggy brain. I t...

Re: Help - poor Wifi camera performance
Thanks, that's clear and setup does sound similar. I think the hardest part of this is going to be to find a someone to do the installation of the cables for us. Unfortunately ill health means that we are unable to do this ourselves this year  I'm OK with the setup stuff and mapping it all out,...

Thank you. We’ve had some recommendations that the WiFi isn’t the problem so we are now testing hard wiring them in

Re: Help - poor Wifi camera performance
OK, so I plug Switch into the router and then the BI PC into the switch along with the cameras. Where do I plug the power adaptors into, the Router (as they currently are) or the switch? Going to have to think carefully where to position the switch as there’s going to be a lot of cables going into i...

Re: Help - poor Wifi camera performance
Thank you, again! It was plugged directly into the router and bit rate set to 2048kpbs, Frame rate 25 and stream control Variable Bit Rate. It looks like those are the highest settings I can select for this camera. If my memory is correct, some of the newer ones have the option to go higher. The swi...

Re: Help - poor Wifi camera performance
We are going to look into running ethernet cables via a TP Link Ethernet Switch. We wanted to test one of the cameras at the front of our home to see if it made a difference. We ran a very long ethernet cable to this camera, turned wifi off on the camera, yet still this morning we are getting some p...
