Re: Should I upgrade my PC/Server?

A loaded question!

Is your current machine...
- Running high cpu?
- Running out of ram? Is it paging?
- Can you use the timeline and view past records okay?
- Can you export ok?

If the box runs BI fine without hickups & running out of cpu & memory, then, why spend the money?

Re: Blue Iris 5 Web Server Stops Working

... Server is static @ 192.168.1.210:81. When I browse to that page (regardless of browser used on any pc in my LAN), I get a login webpage that you cannot login from any browser on any pc within the LAN. The webpage is publishing & visible to clients on the LAN, just no user creds will work to...

Re: Windows 10: Turn off Page file?

I migrated my OS drive to a 2tb Seagate Barracuda 120 SSD. Wow! No comparison. I re-enabled the paging file, and used 'Performance Monitor' to monitor the paging file. Turns out, in my normal day-to-day stuff I do, the paging file does not get used! So, this whole thing was pointless. I'm thinking o...

Re: How should I setup New, Stored, and Alert folders?

Would there be any actual performance advantage for recording new to a SSD then transferring to stored on a mechanical drive? I am in the process of upgrading my boot drive and will have a 90gb ssd free to use for something. I upgraded my boot drive from a mechanical HD to a 2tb Seagate 120. The di...

5.1.0.1 - System tray icon missing?

Updated from 5.1.0.0 to 5.1.0.1. I noticed that the System tray icon was missing when BI was minimized. Yes, the option was enabled in BI Settings 'Startup' tab. I tested by unchecking and checking it again to see if the option was reset by the update. I restored back to 5.1.0.0, and the icon is bac...

Re: Motion zones - Home automation

I get the same at night with cars turning the corner. It's a little better during the winter when the snowbanks get high enough to help block the headlights! If It were possible, I'd put in hedges, or a small picket fence!

5.1.0.0 - "Viewer only" & "Export" option.

Update 5.1.0.0 released earlier today intrioduces a "Viewer only" option. BI can now be used without a license to view & export .bvr files. ( A great cheering is heard throught the land... :D ) Per the update... Once the evaluation period is over, the software will continue to run as a...

Question: Why is MJPEG a must? Old tech. H.264 is much better.
