Re: Does Blue Iris tech support Help with configuring cameras?

I do not use ALPR, so I cannot help in that regard. I would suggest to always use 'Continuous' recording on most cameras, especial the important ones. That way, you get everything. Then, you can use 'Test run video thru motion detector' to fine tune the triggers. One method I temporarily use is to c...

Re: Test run with motion detector and edge vector freeze.

There are two 'Date' buttons... Clips and Timeline.

The Timeline date button is instantaneous.
The Clips date button may take several seconds the first time it's used.

Re: Test run with motion detector and edge vector freeze.

The version number of BI would help a lot.

The fist time you use the calendar, Yes, it takes several seconds. Lately, with the newest versions, this hasn't happened.

Re: Test Run Video Through Motion Detector not triggering

I agree.

One method if to leave a small gap between zones. Then, use another zone to 'connect' all the trigger zones. The 'connect' zone cane be toggled to make it easier to see the trigger zones.

The 'connect' zone is not used in any cross-zone.

Re: FPS and Bitrate

The keyframe and fps is changed by loging into the cameras interface directly. If you have a fps of 15, and a keyframe rate of 15, then the the 'fps/key' will show up in BI as '15.0/1.00'. The numbers? 15 fps is adequate. But, if you want higher, and have plenty of cpu/gpu/memory/storage, the choice...

Re: how to view "errors"

If the errors do not appear in the BI log, there may be something in the Windows event log. To view the Windows event log, see the BI help file section 'Troubleshooting and FAQ' on page 202. BI support may request this info, if any show up. Even if they don;t request it, if you find something that l...

Re: CPU overload

That is an impressive system. Also, 35 4mp cameras! All at 15fps? Looks like your using Nvidia NVDEC Hardware decode? Did you mean a high GPU percent? It's 79%. Because the cpu is only 19%. 20% isn't bad. It's still streaming to BI. One thing to check is the 'Limit live preview' fps in the BI settin...

Re: 64x 4MP Hikvision PC Spec

There may be an issue with using SSD's for the BI database (if that's what your planning). I tested this for about 3 weeks, using a 2tb Seagate SSD for the BI database. The performance viewing the timeline was impressive. But, there were several glitches and crashes I started experiencing. They went...
