The cameras autoreset once a week so the maximum lag is contained.
I don't know what the underlying issue is, but an interim solution might be to have them reset nightly or every other day.

Re: Data management

The OP's post also answers a recent query from another member on what would happen with BI5 if his NAS "Storage" folder was unavailable. I suspected it wouldn't end well  My NAS occasionally locks up or goes incommunicado and BI just stacks up the videos to be sent to it until connectivity r...

Re: Best way to access BI5 remotely if I don't have a real world IP

If you mean a static IP address, that's not required to access BI remotely. Any IP address will do, but you can use a hostname provider or a free DDNS service. You could also use something like ngrok or set up your own VPN through your router interface. My IP address changes from time to time, and m...

Re: Camera Jamming

Then there is something else going on OR they used some military grade EMP/wave generator I misread it too. But yes, to swamp a hard-wired network camera you'd have to be using some serious jamming equipment, the kind that's usually towed behind a truck. There's something else going on. For a wired...

Re: Camera Jamming

I don't think this is specifically a camera issue, the issue would be the same with any wifi camera. It's not that hard to jam a wifi signal, unfortunately. The "Protected Management Frames" setting would be in your router (if it has such a setting, not all do). If your router does have this, it mig...

Re: how to COMPLETELY remove BI5 before reinstall

After deleting everything you can find, I'd recommend using a registry cleaner to clear out any of the BI-related keys or entries.

You can find them under the "Perspective Software\Blue Iris" section in the registry.

Re: Laundry detection (no really)

So I've got a cam in my basement pointed at my washer and dryer to be able to see when the laundry cycle is over. Once a cycle is complete, both devices have a very easy to see LCD text display that says "END". You might be surprised just how small a change BI can detect. With my sensitivity settin...

Re: Trying to get 2nd NIC to work...

Great diagram, gbarnas. That's more or less how our system configured. It must be our NIC/camera settings somewhere.

We're going to try it one last time before we give up. Maybe two more times. I'll let you all know what happens, probably in a post titled "Barely Used NIC For Sale".

Re: Updating NGROK wan URL

I never manually updated anything in BI, the NGROK client should grab a new URL automatically when it starts. Then I would just go to the ngrok URL to login to BI. I started writing an AutoIt script to grab the new ngrok URL out of the ngrok dashboard, but then a bunch of stuff happened and I never ...

Re: Weird IP Confusion With Blue Iris 5

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that got banned over there. I asked a few simple questions and the guy I was chatting with went nuts. Welcome to the real Blue Iris forum. Yes, the other forum appears to be run by a tender snowflake with a fragile ego; you're the latest in a long line of people th...
