Re: Main screen layout

Right-Click in the BI window and select 'Layout' You'll see '1-up', '2-up', and, '4-up'. And, "1:1 thru '1:9'. The n-Up determines how many views in the main large cameras area. The 1:n is bit difficult to explain. Seelct the different choices to see what they do. The cameras can be moved around to ...

Re: Noob Alert!

- BI on 2 desktops: Yes, but you would need 2 licenses. One for each computer.

- You can use the webserver to stream. Then use your desktop/laptop/tablet/phone to view using BI's UI3. The phone app is very good.

pcpartpicker

Found an interesting website that's suppose to help build desktops, and, tell you if the parts are compatible.

https://pcpartpicker.com/

Not sure if it's sponsored.

Re: BI VERSION 5 ALERT SOUNDS

The audio changed for me also on a V4 update... way back. Can't remember when or what.
So many things to remember. I think I've forgotten more over the years than I've ever learned.

Re: Decent cameras

Did a lookup on it. It's from France! They say they are an official reseller of BI. I'd stay away - just out of principle.

The most accurate information will be from the original BI website - providing they put the information back on the website! ;)

Re: Upgrade instructions?

There's a Microsoft C++ 2015-2019 redistributable that should have installed as part of the V5 install, if you didn't have it. The install package should be in the V5 program folder if you need it. There are a few other notes, but not needed for 99% of installs. Yes, you uninstall V4 the normal way....

Re: Blue Iris FPS degrades reliably from 30 FPS to 15-22 FPS after 6-12 hours

Wow. That's a lot of follow up. Good information. Unfortunately, I'm not that level of expert! I would say if the continuous/motion recordings are all at the proper fps, then, it's not BI. Must be the UI3, VNC... something getting in the way and dropping frames - possibility an issue of quality vs s...

Re: Upgrade instructions?

When you uninstall V4, be sure to reply properly when asked to retain registration & settings. Otherwise, you WILL need to start from scratch.

The BI V5 install process will explain all this.
