Re: Terrible quality recording, even when using direct to disk
What are your cam settings, that will dictate the stream that BI receives.

Re: Getting through Norton Firewall
Are you using the BI mobile app?
Also these days Defender the built in AV is good enough to not warrant paying extra for 3rd party AV so if you are paying for Norton you might consider kicking it into touch?

Re: Upon launching, Blue Iris keeps closing on me
You can get this if you enable hardware acceleration for example on a cam but the cam doesn’t support it. Only way I have see people recover from this is to open up the registry, locate where BI stored stuff and then identify the registry key/value and flip it. The other way which is more drastic is...

Re: Looking to Upgrade My BlueIris 4 & NVR Setup - Need Advice on AI-Powered Features
I would look for an i5 8th gen desktop at min. Make sure it can accommodate an SSD or 2 and again at min 2 hard drives. Re: Optiplex 9040 for Blue Iris?
Just my personal opinion but I’d be looking at getting something with an i5 8th gen at minimum as that is the lowest gen that officially support Windows 11. I currently run an i5-6500 and if you are planning on running CP AI then from what I’ve found the CPU doesn’t have enough oomph so another reas...

Re: Dell Optimax 7050 SSF
Last I read on this subject I think Microsoft’s list of CPUs started from 8th gen onwards which is why it was replacing my BI PC I always suggest getting one with an 8th gen or newer. If the PC is only going to be used for BI then to me it makes no difference if it’s running Windows 10 or some other...

Might be useful to state what version you had and what you went back to?
