Re: anyone recommend IR flood lights? Impact on animals?

I also see my review of the (no longer available?) BI12 magically appeared on the BI8 listing. In 2018 mine came with a wall wart power adapter and a sensor that turns it off and on based on daylight. Who knows what the case is three years later? My guess is that somewhere along the line somebody th...

Re: anyone recommend IR flood lights? Impact on animals?

I added a "Tendelux 150ft IR Illuminator | BI12 90° Wide Angle 850nm LED IR Light for Security Camera (w/Power Adapter)" mounted behind a garage window about 40' away from the camera with the results as pictured below. If it disturbs the critters they haven't complained to me about it and ...

Re: hardware Acceloration

While the previous posters are correct in that simply adding a graphics card may have little effect on BI CPU usage that only applies if you are running as a service and not viewing the user interface on screen. It takes CPU to paint the screen and if there is no GPU to help it, the CPU will take al...

Re: Schedule continuous recording

Did you get to page 116 of the current help file under "Profiles" and then "Schedules" (pg 117)? It seems that's designed to get you where you want to go(?) Or is there some specific function not covered there that you're trying to accomplish?

Re: How to ensure BI does not use NVIDIA Cuda

Mine is set the same but I still see GPU usage just to paint the screen. Won't the GPU be used for that with any app, playing a youtube video for instance? I'm no expert but I added a video card just to offload some graphics usage from the CPU and that worked perfectly for me. I see 15% - 50% with t...

Re: 5.2.8.1 update - Crashes BI

From 5.2.8.0 to 5.2.8.1. Already had overlays enabled for one camera. Disabled, OK'd, reenabled, OK'd, everything continues to function as expected. Don't have a clue what metadata does so can't comment on that. Happy hunting. W10, 64bit Edit: Actually read the help file update info and right clicki...

Re: Start up process of Blue Iris.

There are a number of applications that use a file named "startup.exe" besides the Glary version at your link. If it's that particular Glary version you're trying to use I'm of no help. If you want BI to run when you start W10 then running it as a service (page 162 of the current help file...

Re: Newbie Playback Question

At the bottom of the UI is the Timeline bar. You can double click at the desired time to view all cameras displayed in the UI at that time and then play forward or back at the desired rate. If you need to zero in on time you can use the slider on the right of the timeline to expand or contract the v...

Re: reset software

From page 197 of the current help file: "All settings for Blue Iris are stored in a registry key. Enter REGEDIT into the Windows search box to open the registry editor. Search for: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Perspective Software\Blue Iris Deleting or renaming this key will allow you to test a ...
