Re: UI3 Hangs - old/new setup
So it seemed I needed about 8-10 (there was a choppiness as it got low). However, I went into the encoder settings and mine were set to defaults. I worked on them a bit just setting what I thought might work and... it works fine. Now I get 4fps smoothly. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-4cMnTfV/0...

Re: UI3 Hangs - old/new setup
Maybe try pushing a few more frames toward UI3 for the encoding involved to create its main streams? Certainly can't explain why it used to work fine but now it doesn't. Seems to be a lot of that going around lately. What are you viewing UI3 on? So this is bizarre. I increased one camera to 15fps, ...

UI3 Hangs - old/new setup
I have an old setup that ran fine at my prior house, and dusted it off at a new house and started buying cameras. So far I have two (previously 7 x 4k). I record 24x7 at 4fps, and keep about 30 days worth. The server at this point is loafing, about 5-10% CPU, 10-20% GPU, 50% memory, just nothing to ...

Re: New cameras, old server, lots of hangs
Overnight the H.264 change fixed both cameras with regard to hangs in the BI interface live as well as playback.
I still have the UI3 problem but perhaps should open a new thread for that, as it appears different from the H.265 issues.

Re: New cameras, old server, lots of hangs
Someone else will need to hop in for the UI3 stuff. I only use it infrequently. Thanks. I'm delighted to have the cameras working, but I use the UI3 stuff whenever I travel, just VPN in and run it. Since (unless something changed) you can't run the BI program itself on a different device, much less...

Re: New cameras, old server, lots of hangs
There is the possibility that the GPUs are banging into each other somehow in Blue Iris. You may want to designate the 6700 (Intel) as the default in the main BI 'Cameras' settings and ensure default is designated in each camera's decode configuration. This should isolate the two GPUs for testing. ...

Re: New cameras, old server, lots of hangs
More details about the current hardware would be helpful as would additional detail about the camera configurations. Server is a Z170-WS i7-6700 system running W10x64, 64gb memory, everything on SSD except target of BI's video saves. There's just no sign of any resource issues there, hard faults ne...

New cameras, old server, lots of hangs
I have a problem that might be the cameras, but it is puzzling and hope someone can give me a start. I had BI running at my prior home with 7 cameras, working perfectly (well, except the reolink for its own reasons). These were all 4k, a combination of hikvision, lorex and one reolink. The server is...

Re: Setting up again - any reason not to buy Hikvision?
Hmmm... I see that, it saves a few dollars and a lot of disk space (i.e. longer retention). I didn't see any 1/1.2" sensors that had the varifocal lens for 4k. I do a lot of still photography so understand how big pixels and noise work in concept, but... are there any posted comparisons of thos...

Re: Setting up again - any reason not to buy Hikvision?
I found a good looking empire tech on amazon ( IPC-T58IR-ZE S S3) which makes it returnable, going to give it a try. I like the varifocal, since I can then buy the same camera for different viewpoints and adjust, or more flexibility if I decide the viewpoint was a bad choice and move it. NDAA compli...
