How to configure Blue Iris to manage network security alerts?

Post by gabin8207 »

Hello everyone,

I’m currently setting up Blue Iris for proactive security alert management on my network, especially to detect suspicious behaviors or intrusion attempts via my network cameras. I’d like to make the most of Blue Iris’s advanced features to:

Configure email alerts and push notifications for specific events (e.g., suspicious movements, unauthorized access attempts).
Link these alerts to network anomalies detected by my existing infrastructure, such as unauthorized port access attempts or changes in network configuration.
Include screenshots or video clips of detected events directly in the notifications for quick analysis.
I’m wondering if it’s possible to automate these alerts in synchronization with network monitoring tools (like a lightweight SIEM or a custom setup with syslog). Do any of you have examples or experiences with deeper network integration using Blue Iris?

Additionally, I’m also working on network configurations and cybersecurity strategies, which I share on my blog, https://cyberopti.com/. There, I cover topics like securing IP cameras and optimizing network setups for home or semi-professional environments. If these topics interest you, feel free to take a look!

Thanks in advance for your tips and insights, and kudos to this community for its valuable discussions!
