Intersil TW6869 Analog Capture Card How to use with BI?

I have a couple of mid tower computers set up as a DVR. They have intersil TW6869 16CH analog capture cards with 8 channels of audio. I've loaded the video drivers and have made windows happy. How would I get BI to recognize the card and make it work? I've got an analog PTZ that would be nice to add to the system.

Some application would need to listen to your analog drivers and serve them up as a video stream with a URL.

I believe BI requires a URL to connect to for each camera.

This might sound harsh, but I would trash the analog cards and cameras. Not worth the trouble.

I still have a Euresys Picolo Pro2 4 channel analogue card in my BI5 pc for my last two analogue cameras. It does work with BI5 and it doesn't need an IP address. I will have to remind myself how I got that working. I don't think many analogue cards will work with BI5, but if you have it Windows happy then you may be lucky.

OK, create a camera and go to camera settings in BI5. Go to Video tab and check "Device type: Usb, firewire or analog".
Does your card now show in the selector next to it ? Mine shows the Euresys card and s/n followed by Vid1 to Vid4. I used to have two of these working in BI5. I think they shared bandwidth though, as the more cameras you added the less fps I got.
Next step was it wouldn't record. That was cured by BI5 re-encoding to H264.
Hope you are lucky ! Let us know.

HeneryH, I think you have frightened him off :o

Anyway, settings in BI5 for an analogue card that works with BI5 look like this:

Analogue = Analog !
Analogue = Analog !

Then create another camera, and change the Vid number.

I had a analog card once and spent tons of time trying to find windows drivers and making it work. Never did.

Fenderman agrees with me :)

This board doesn't automatically notify me of replies.

I do not see any cards etc when checking usb firewire or analog the box is greyed out.

I found 6869 drivers online that seemed to make device manager happy, it only had video and the board I have has audio and video on it so I will keep looking.

I've got someone who refuses to replace his analog cameras who needs it along with the academic exercise this presents.

I guess I could run them through a IP encoder of some sort but I have these boards that are brand new...
Here's pics of the board if anyone recognizes it

The academic exercise would be in the history dept? Honestly, this is a dead technology.
But, you might get it to work.

[edit - I'm sorry for being so negative on this. Good luck. Really.]
