Groups Broken

I've recently replaced our entire server and gone from 5.7.9.12 to 5.8.0.15.
Everything went well, and even the import/export feature worked better than expected. I have however now noticed that our only user who has groups configured gets an "empty list" message when logging into the web interface and it gets stuck in a loop with no cameras visible.
This user still has the original group from the old server specified under her login details, but groups in general no longer works...
Going into a camera's properties shows no groups available, and I can't even create new groups. Has something broken between v5.7.9.12 and 5.8.0.15, or has the import broken something in the underlying config?
(No good with 5.8.0.16 either which is the current latest version)
