5.8.1.0 does not solve the issue either:

Steadily growing since the update. Does anyone have a solution?

Go back to the last stable release? Have you tried that?

I have not tried that. Can I downgrade to 5.7.x without issues?

Nobody will really know as versions and updates, made in each version aren’t really that well documented. The BI help file normally has an overview of the main changes so take a look and see which features you use might be impacted.

Also you could try disabling hardware acceleration as a first step to try and identify the cause.

In the past I have read of cams that have hardware acceleration enabled but that for whatever don’t like or support it causing memory issues

Really, really strange but my test system with 5.8.0.16 has now randomly started crashing since the last 3-4 days.

Seems like a few of the cams go into constant trigger mode which then kills the system. Interestingly enough the RAM usage is below 2gig but the CPU is pegged out at 100% with some of the cams showing the no signal static image.

I’ve just updated it to 5.8.1.1 to see what happens and will report back.

As I said, really strange as it’s been running .15 and .16 without any issues for quite a while so why it’s just started having issues I’ve no idea.

I've been on .14 for a while and have not seen the memory issue since going there up from .04, and at Ken's suggestion, immediately doing a database rebuild to bring it up to current spec.

Memory leak on version 5.8.0.5

Hmm I didn’t do a database rebuild but as yesterday was Sunday the maint task should have now run.

I also don’t recall the update performing a rebuild if it is required but there again I wasn’t really watching it they close.

I feel a bit daft, I did get a reply from... Ken :) but somehow Office 365 /Microsoft decided it was SPAM.

On his request I have added blueiris.exe and c:\Blueiris to the exclusion list of Microsoft Defender (Page 225 of the manual) and am now updating the Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics drivers from 31.0.101.4885 to the latest version (31.0.101.4972), hopefully this solves the memory leak!
