Blue Iris service failed to start (1069) started after upgrade to Blue iris 5

I just upgraded from Blue Iris 4 to Blue Iris 5 and after configuring, I try and select run as a service, enter my remote console password, shut down software and when I restart, I get the window popup saying" Blue Iris service failed to start (1069).

Never had this issue on Blue Iris 4 and am a little irritated. I uninstalled Blue Iris 4 as instructed, all my cameras and setting imported in newer version, but I cannot get it to start as a service.

Please advise on possible issues and fixes.

1069 is logon failure.
Make sure the logon info for the service is a Windows user/password account for the blue iris system, not the BI Web UI account.
You can check/change it on the logon tab from services.msc/Blue Iris service.

Are you running the service using the Local System account? A long time ago, it was suggested to swap over and operate the BI account using the account credentials of the local admin account used to do the real BI installation. So give it a go and see if it acts better.
