Instructions for Sending Log Files

BI System Log: Logs should be enabled to create one file per month - if logging isn't enabled, check the box and send it in two days. Otherwise, click Open folder button and attach the YYYYMM.txt log.

Running BI Service Instructions

Blue Iris Service must always run at windows startup with admin rights. Enable the service on the Startup page in Settings. You will be prompted for a Windows login user and password—by default the current user. This account must have administrator rights. The software will check the password for accuracy and then add the necessary system privileges to the account. Reboot server PC after changes. The service will be added with the proper permissions and always run in the background.

Without reliable camera feed, nothing else matters so the first step is to optimize streaming to BI, then update BI with those settings. Watch the 2 min Visual Aid Video to see it done starting through the console.

1. Configure Dual Streaming: Log into each IP camera from the console

4 critical settings for each stream

Encoding: h.264
FPS: 15
Variable Bitrate (VBR)
Frame Interval: 15

NOTE: If you cannot complete this step search for the manufacturer/model within the self help and troubleshooting documentation for information available.

2.Blue Iris Settings: Open camera settings and refresh to re-populate the dialog and add sub stream profile for each camera

3. Verify changes using the Cameras tab of the Status window
