Tips and Tricks
Case 1: Move recordings
This tip is about moving recordings for whatever reason. You may have purchased a new drive etc.
Temporarily stop recordings. Easiest way to do so is to turn the Shield to red.
By doing so, the database and recording files are not being accessed by BI.
Create a folder in the Clips and archiving tab pointing to the new storage. In my example, I created Aux 3.
Move files to Aux3. In my example, I moved all the recordings associated with the burn camera to Aux3.
Right click in clips list -> Database -> Repair/regenerate.
Confirm camera clips are visible (my camera is called burn).
Confirm open containing folder goes to right place.
Aux3 in my example is NOT part of the archiving scheme.
You can definitely do so, e.g. New -> Stored -> Aux3.
