upgrade

I just did the upgrade to the latest version. I put the key in the provided slot but I am still running the older version. do I need to down load something or is the upgrade automatic?
Think we need more information in order to help?
What did you upgrade from and to and what process did you follow? If from v4 to v5, did you uninstall v4 first etc...
