Are you referring to the 'Combine or cut video each' options? This is explained in the Help.

Basically, if your recording is set to 'Continuous', and this option is checked, the bvr file will be 'Cut' every n hours specified. You need to have minutes. If you specify '6' hours, then the continuous bvr recording will be 'cut' at Noon, 6pm, Midnight, and, 6am.

If you have the cameras recording set to 'When Triggered', leave this option unchecked.

That's not what I mean. I only want it to record when triggered. Beside that box, it has x minutes and x seconds. What should these be set at, approximately? Also, on the combine or cut line, ii has hrs, minutes, and GB. ...approx settings?

The 'x minutes and x seconds' fields are not applicable for 'When triggered'. They can only be set using the drop down settings ending in '...each'.

The 'combine or cut' option...
Usually you only want this enabled if your doing 'Continuous' recording, which your not. Enabling will cut (split) a recording in the time specified and/or GB size.
If you enable this when using 'When Triggered', it will 'combine' all the individual clips into one clip cut by the time/size specified.

Most BI users do not enable 'Combine or cut' when recording 'When Triggered'.
If you do enable this, specifying 6 hours will cut the bvr recording at even clock times of 6am, Noon, 6pm, Midnight. Likewise, specifying 8 hours will cut the recording 3 times a day.
