Delay from Alert Image to start of recording?

Post by protivakid »

I am having an issue where I sometimes see a delay between the alert image and the actual start of the recording clip. If I blow up the Alert Image I can see the camera time stamp of 9:43:45 with an animal in my yard. My recording didn't begin though until 9:43:58 which is 13 seconds later. I have my Pre-Trigger Buffer set to a generous "10 Sec" and am using Direct-to-Disk to an SSD Drive solely used for Blue Iris.

I did notice and corrected that my camera was set at 15fps and my iFrame Interval was 50. I bumped the iFrame down to 15 as suggested by others, yet still this seems like it would solve a problem where the user was only having a 3-4 second delay, not the 13 second delay I experienced.

Any ideas?

Could you post an screen capture of the 'Record' settings?

Manually trigger thru the menu. Does the same thing happen?

Keep increasing the Pre-trigger to see what happens. Try 15.

Also, When using 'When Triggered', when you have 'Combine or cut...' enabled, it will join all clips into one. Unselect this option, and these triggered clips will appear individually.

What is your make time?

The only thing I can think of is if the drive is going to sleep, and needs to wake up.

You could try changing to 'Continious' to test.

You think even on an SSD this would happen?

I would also check and turn off indexing and compression, on the BI drive(s)... if they are on of course.
