Will a MD Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX Edition 8GB GDDR5 work with blue iris?
Re: Graphics card
Yes, the AMD Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX Edition 8GB GDDR5 is compatible with Blue Iris, but there are a few considerations to keep in mind:
1. Hardware Decoding Support: Blue Iris primarily relies on Intel Quick Sync for hardware acceleration, which is optimized for Intel CPUs with integrated GPUs. While AMD GPUs, like the RX 580, offer some hardware decoding capabilities, Blue Iris might not fully leverage the RX 580’s decoding potential. So, while it’s compatible, it may not perform as efficiently as an Intel integrated GPU.
2. System Performance Requirements: The RX 580 has solid graphics processing power, which can help with graphical performance in multi-tasking or multi-camera monitoring scenarios. However, a powerful CPU is still needed to ensure Blue Iris runs smoothly, especially if managing multiple high-resolution streams.
3. Settings Adjustments: You can try selecting the supported GPU acceleration options within Blue Iris settings. If there’s no noticeable improvement, lowering video resolution or frame rates could help balance system resources.

Re: Graphics card
What settings would you recommend for a AMD GPU/CPU setup?
Decode options are,
Default
Intel
No
Intel +VPP
DirectX VA2
Direct3D11 VA
Intel Beta
Have an AMD CPU 1800X, and an AMD Radeon RX 570 8GB.
I've been running Direct3D11 VA, but don't see any other logical option.
Just curious about thoughts?
