Unable to access my camerss with Phone

Using my LAN IP ....

When using the Blue Iris app , I get "Unable to Connect - IP banned"
When I use my phone in Google Chrome - I get "access to xx.xxx.xx.xx (my IP address) was denied - you don't have authorization to view this page.


When I use my desktop using the LAN IP I am able to log into my cameras.

Router has port 81 forwarded and the connection wizard in Blue Iris passes

So, are you trying to get the BI5 app working on your LAN or on the WAN ? Lets start with LAN with the basics:

1. If LAN you don't need the port forwarding, but you do with WAN - unless you don't like poking holes in your firewall.
2. If LAN, have you set up a user in BI5 settings ? See "Users" and "Mobile devices".
3. Can you use that user in UI3 to view BI5 ?
4. If you go to Status/ Connections is the IP banned there ? Likely to be red text. If it is try right clicking to un-ban it.
5. General settings/ Web server/ Advanced - Is it set to "Authentication - Require from non LAN only" ?

Some combination of those should get it working. If not add screenshots of your settings.

absolutely my bad ... damn .. I was using WAN IP address (i have no idea why I put LAN in this)


I will be traveling next month and wanted to get the app running on my phone (Android)

OK, so can you view BI5 on the android phone at home on your LAN with the app ? If you can you have users and mobile devices sorted in BI5 settings.
If yes, then we need to look at things like if your home IP address is dynamic or static and if you have ddns set up. Small steps !

working now.

yes, all worked on the LAN at home.
my IP address (LAN) is static
ddns was not set up and is still not set up. should be ok for my trip .. ISP's don't change IP's that often - but will look into doing this shortly.


Uninstalled and reinstalled app. on the phone
unplugged router and restarted it.
it started working ...
