is there a wiki, FAQ, or similar set of reading that I might ingest before asking a dumb question? with apologies for jumping the gun, I would like to know what are the supported hardware platforms and if there has been success with the likes of, say, Synology (without using their software. would it take a complex virtual container for example), or even Ubiquity cloud key plus (is this a Linux platform?). see my questions reflect a basic lack of understanding of what BI was written for , and that I'm trying to make use of my existing hardware :-).

I suspect there is merit in obtaining an inexpensive windows machine -- I get that. I just wanted to explore the edges of reality :)

Hi dleno,

There is an excellent help file in BI5, and I would hope that you can access it by using BI5 in demo mode. BI5 is Windows only software, but hardware requirements for the pc depend on the camera load you will be adding.

As for dumb questions, this is mainly a user to user forum, so we all ask them
