Help with SAS Disk ?

Post by gokiwi » Wed Sep 18, 2019 7:25 pm

Hello All,

Not sure if anyone can help, its kind of BI related (ish), I was offered a couple of 4TB SAS disks (perfect for Storage I thought), So I bought an LSI SAS controller however it came with no cables :-(.

I have no idea what I need (searches confuse me as the mention different connector types and styles), Does anybody know what cable or how I identify what connectors I need ?

Regards

It would be helpful to know the model of the LSI controller.

Anyway, Easy Peasy... do a search for 'sas cable'. Many on Amazon/eBay'.

If your SAS drive supports 'Sata mode', you can use a sas to sata cable! no controller needed. Neat, huh?
