Help with ONVIF trigger events from camera

Post by marklyn »

Just set up my new (Dahua) IPC-Color4k0T180 dual lens camera. Nice camera, lots of features!
I have my IVS set up in the camera the way I want it and it seems to be working well enough (recording) for now (more tweaking later).
When I set this camera up in BI it was done with ONVIF so everything was pulled from the camera but BI is not recording when the camera is triggered.
I've checked a few settings that I believe should be on:
Under the Camera Video settings I have the "Get ONVIF trigger events on"
Under Trigger tab I have the ONVIF/camera events on and the Global DIO bits on.
I don't have the motion detect on BI since I want the camera to dictate when it's triggered.
Anyone have any further suggestions on what else to check in BI or maybe the camera?
Or if anyone knows of any resources that might help for this camera I'd appreciate it. It seems to be pretty new and the documentation I got with it helps but is not thorough.

The last time I tried this, I think there was another Onvif trigger setting in the camera video setting page close to IP etc. Can't check now but have a look there. It did work.

Did you do the following?
Hit Find/Inspect on the camera setting to pull the coding for the triggers.
On the Alerts tab uncheck the Motions Zones tab (those are alerting you to any BI motion in those areas in Zones A thru H)

OK, so you have Camera Video settings "Get ONVIF trigger events on", and Trigger tab ONVIF/camera events on and the Global DIO bits on. I don't know which version of BI5 you are using, but in v5.7.8.1 if you click on Trigger tab is there a "Configure..." box to the right of "ONVIF/camera events" ?

Opening that on my system shows this:

onvif.png
onvif.png (238.93 KiB) Viewed 1690 times

These appear to be a standard set of Onvif commands that BI5 is listening for, and you can edit them or create new ones. If you don't have this version, then the usual fall back is to use Onvif Device Manager to see what commands that camera is outputting.

I now also have the Onvif plug in for Homeseer, so I can directly use camera Onvif commands for home automation.

If none of the above work, check that the camera is actually outputting Onvif commands, and verify if your camera is using the expected Onvif profile (Probably S or T).

Is the Global DIO option required? Don’t think I have that set on my system, will check and report back.

You said to tick it to get ONVIF triggers didn’t you unless I misread your earlier post?
