Will this configuration work?

Post by sc2001hd »

Just purchased this Intel i7-7567U 3.5GHz, 8GB DDR4, 128GB SSD Plus 1TB HDD. Installed
BI V5. This is the the only program on the above other than WIN 10. Program will run for awhile then crash. Any suggestions?

Hi, it should certainly work, so what exactly is happening ? Is this a laptop with a dual core cpu ?

Can you give us more info about your system ? What version of BI are you running ? What is it doing when it crashes ? Any fault logs/ messages ? How many cameras etc

Just download V5. I am running 7 cameras. Once i stop using the program and let it sit idle, ie no mouse or keyboard movement. It will freeze the computer. This computer is one of those mini computers. The load on the cpu usually stays at around 65% with an occasional spike. I have set the cpu on the computer not to sleep. The computer is brand new out of the box. If there are fault logs I have not seen any. I have to do a hard reboot and it works fine again. But will eventually lock back up in about 5 minutes

1) If you let it sit without BI running, does it eventually freeze?

2) Also, 65% load is little high. If you haven't already done so, you may want to switch to direct-to-disk recording to help reduce the load.

Hi sc2001hd,
If there are fault logs I have not seen any.
In BI5, click the icon that looks like a graph on the top left hand side of the screen. Select Messages. Tick the box at the bottom to Log to file, and make sure it saves it to somewhere easy to find. Give that a try and see if it gives any clues after a couple of crashes

Don't forget to turn off the logging afterwards though.
