Ryzen cpu for software

i have ryzen cpu laying around and consider to make pc for blue iris with 8-12 ip camera 24/7. Will this ryzen 2700x handle fine ? it doesn't have quicksync but i can add GPU here and there.

Hi, it totally depends on the resolution of the cameras, so if it doesn't cost much, try it. I did have 9 cameras of various HD and Sd resolutions on an 1800x for a couple of years.
Using substreams means you don't need a gpu, and d2d will keep the load down.

There is of course the Blue Iris update helper website, which shows users pc's and loading. Putting "2700x" in the cpu box, I can see two pc's.

Now my pc is presently doing 48MP/s with six 1080p cameras, one Wyze cam v2 at 720p and two old D1 analogue SD cameras on a Piccolo Pro card. The above site with the 2700x shows 80.3MP/s @ 3% cpu with 14 cameras of unknown resolution, and 333.3MP/s @ 14% cpu with 5 cameras which must be higher resolution. Since the site does show Nvidia acceleration for other users, it looks like both of those have no video acceleration.

If you can figure out the MP/s for one of your cameras, you should be able to work out the expected total MP/s and have an idea if your cpu can handle it.
