Home autoation

Post by tardigrade »

Recall reading some threads about Home Automation software compatible with Blue Iris but not having a lot of luck finding them. Does anyone recall the name of the software?

I use Homeseer HS4, which can read MQTT from BI5, and ONVIF commands from cameras. I think Home Assistant should do the same. Node Red is an inbetween software for brainiacs

Home Assistant can view an OnVif Stream, receive Onvif alarms, and send Onvif commands (like PTZ)
https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/onvif/
For me this is good enough - I have tested integrating a camera view into a dashboard, but not gone much further.

...there is an 'Integration' to blue Iris available:
https://www.wundertech.net/how-to-integ ... assistant/
But the prerequisites (it needs 'HACS' https://hacs.xyz/ a community store allowing untested, unverified apps) and the lack of any significant additional 'smarts' (I think it shows the camera triggered state, but not much else) meant I have not bothered testing it.
