180° Boavision Dual-Camera

Post by Thixotropic »

I recently decided to get one of these Boavision dual-video cameras to check out, and overall I'm impressed.

The split where the video signals are combined is flawless- you really can't tell where one cam stops and the other begins.

I got this mostly to play with and I don't think I'll actually ever use it, but if you need a good camera with a true 180° FOV, this could be it. The night vision is also very good, which surprised me.

All in all, not bad for ~$100 US or so.

A true 180-degree FOV with pretty decent image quality:

Any complications in settings, or did BI5 just recognise it ?

BI recognized it instantly and ran through the "Inspect" routine super fast, in about 1 second.

I have no idea what to do with the camera, but I'm impressed with the image merging. That's something I've wished BI could do for years.

Amazon are doing this one for £99 as a black Friday offer, I got one and it's also really good (though I haven't installed it yet, only had it hooked up to BI to check it works). PoE not WiFi.
