Amcrest AB2WFCAM compatibility

Post by jbw55 »

I've obtained some Amcrest wireless AB2WFCAM cameras and a smart Amcrest smarthome hub. I have an existing installation of Blue Iris with some cameras today. Can I utilize these new Amcrest cameras with blue iris?

WHen I use the Amcrest IP config tool, the wireless cams can't be found, presumably because they are behind the smart hub? I can't seem to figure out how to configure the camera's directly without attaching them to the smart hub first.

Thanks

I don't want to say definitively but it does indicate that the hub is required for use (I realize sometimes thats said and not ACTUALLY true) but based on your testing so far, I'd assume it's likely. You may have a tough time adding them through the hub. The only other thing I can think of is if there is a way to view the stream directly with a browser you may be able to link BI to that. It's all iffy.

I answered my own question, just setup the amcrest smart hub as an RTSP source, using this URL

rtsp://IP_Address/cam/realmonitor?channel=2&subtype=0

Change the channel number to the camera you need a feed from, in this case the feed is configured for my second camera.
