ReoLink RLC-810A - Auto Focusing but out of Focus

Post by tophmm » Fri Mar 17, 2023 11:50 pm

If I navigate to the Web Interface for the camera and manually focus, everything appears great (both from web interface & from BI). Then it will randomly (sometimes minutes, hours, or even days) become unfocused and it's not just a little blurry, it's BAD out of focus, like you wouldn't be able to be certain if an object 10 feet away was a cat or a standard poodle and this is in broad daylight. I've been tinkering with it off and on for months and am having no luck. So I'm seeking some advice from you awesome people with hopes you'll be willing to help or at least point me in the right direction. -Thanks in advance.

You need to find out if it's BI5 or not. Anything in the log ? Are you able to view the camera and turn BI5 off for an extended period ? See if it still does it then ? Hmm, Wireshark...

I have a Reolink that will go out of focus once in a while for no reason. I will zoom in-out in BI, and the camera refocuses. But then in a week or two I will find it out of focus again. I wrote it off on Reolink, being just one of the "features" I am living with having bought these cameras. They work all right most of the time, but not all of the time with BI. Something about them is not 100% up to standards, but the price point is attractive so there we have it.
