OK This is weird..

When I first installed BI5, the WEB SERVER tab was pointed at the BI4 dir... But it didn't work..

So I pointed the SERVER to the BI5 dir..

I just now reverted it to the BI4 dir and now the Web Server comes up fine..

Is it possible that there was no upgrade to the WEB SERVER in BI5 and we simply have to use the BI4 Web Server??

That's a good one. After getting BI5 running, I also had to change the BI5 web server settings to use BI5 rather than BI4 directories - I did this before uninstalling BI4, and I followed it up with checking all of the BI4 directories had really been deleted. I use Acronis True Image just in case I come unstuck while deleting things

The original poster had a 12002 error, which appears to be a timeout. Looking in my BI5 webserver settings under the "Advanced" tab, I can see that I have "HTTP Keep-alives" ticked. I also have the "Listen/bind to one selected LAN IP" ticked for my BI5 server address.

Is there much difference between BI4 and BI5 vis a vis the Web Browser??

Some really nice upgrades that would justify the work in getting it working for those who are having issues??

I don't think there was much of a change there.

Going back to my working settings, If I un-tick "Use UI3 for non-IE browsers" and browse to my BI5 pc (e.g. http://192.168.0.2:81) from a different pc on the LAN, I can see the old BI web page. When I tick "Use UI3 for non-IE browsers" then save that, I can refresh the page and view the newer UI3 web page using the same IP address.

I noticed one difference in my BI4/BI5 Web Server settings..

The path for BI4 is C:\Security\BlueIris4\xxx No spaces..

The path of BI5 is C:\Security\Blue Iris 5\xxx with spaces..

Is there any way I can re-install BI 5 with a different install dir w/o losing all my settings and cameras???

To test if the spaces in the path might be the issue??

I think Reddawg has posted on how to do complete back ups for BI4 and BI5.

FWIW, my web server file path is the default C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5\www in which I can see ui3.htm etc.

As long as your path is pointing to the BI5 folder with ui3.htm in it, it should work. This should be the www folder within the BI5 folder.

I just noticed there was a new update that says UI3 has been updated..

Well, no luck on that, but I did find something interesting..

When you said "ui3.htm" I thought I could maybe go directly to the HTM file and connect..

No joy...

Then I looked at the WWW dirs in BI4 and BI5

Here's what I found..
Seems that the BI-5 install is missing quite a few files in it's WWW dir...
