Whitelist ip without blocking everyone other ip?

Post by Jatgm1 »

How do I whitelist one ip addresses for not having to use a password but still allow other ip address to access Blue Iris if they use a password. I have one particular device that needs to not use a password. Everything else logs in normally.

Not recommended. But...

Add a User to BI without a password.
Uncheck Admin and most other options. You don;t want just anyone being able to log into BI and change settings, move cameras around...
You may want to make a special camera group and assign that to the user.

Is this an internal or external ip address?
This wouldn't happen to be for an executive/owner of a company?

The IP that needs to be whitelisted and not to be asked for a password is on the internal network.

The other addresses are a combination of internal or external addresses from Mobile devices

I don't see how you can link one I address to a user.

This HAS ti be a request from an exec... just can't be bothered by all this messy password stuff!
I has this request when I was working. My answer was.... a polite 'no, passwords are for a reason'.

Set a simple password. Something easy to remember, like... there name suffixed with a '1'!
Once the UI3, Phone app, Console, has logged in, set it to remember the user/password, and to auto login. Done.
