[motion detection] Different sensitivity depending on the zone

Post by allgrind »

Hi, everyone,

I am currently testing BI and am more than thrilled.
However, there is one thing I do not understand.

Can I only use the sensitivity of the motion detection for the entire screen section and not for specific zones?

Example:
Zone a is very sensitive
Zone b less sensitivity

That would help me to consider different sections and distances in motion detection.

Sorry for my bad English.

Many greetings
John

That is correct. These settings are for all zones.

However, if you have different settings, let's say for nighttime, you can use Profile and schedules. There are many posts here on that. I posted a few minutes ago about this and using Geofencing... https://blueirissoftware.com/Forum/view ... f=3&t=2470

I tackle this by creating a clone. The Master and clone(s) can be configured differently.

Try this: For your current camera- CamerraSettings/General - check clone master and save.
Add New Camera and choose copy from another camera - select your clone master.
IMPORTANT: uncheck "Clone Master" in the copy and save it.
Check that the name in the banner has an asterix after it - that means it IS a clone.
You now have two cameras to experiment with. The only thing they are sharing is the feed from the physical camera.

Now Check the camera status page. You should see that your clone is showing similar values for the FPS/Key BUT NO Bit Rate.

I hope that helps.
ps I have a slight problem with clones at the moment that I have reported to BI. They work as you would like but look like they are pulling separate streams from the camera

Thank you for your answers! I will test this with the clone.

I am currently using the triggered + continuous record mode with deepstack.

Then I still only have one recording or one recording for each camera clone.

Many greetings
