No I simply mean in the Camera Settings configuration for each camera, having a configured Main Stream Profile and a Sub Stream Profile. The Blue Iris Status > Cameras window will accurately and quickly show if you have them set up correctly.

Each camera would need to have the substream enabled if not already on then each cameras settings in BI need to be configured for the substream URL, I think I have mine setup right but Matts can verify.

Settings look good/right but to ensure the stream is actually feeding into BI you need to look at the Camera Status. The part circled in red below is only populated once the streams are set up.

You can also see it on the General tab of the Camera settings.

I say to verify in these spots because
A) you could put any URI in the config and you only know if it's right by checking
B) I'd recommend verifying your actual settings BI observes anyway. I have one camera that frustratingly ignores *some* of the config parameters in the Web UI. I confirmed it with their support. Is what it is I guess.

I do not readily see how to setup / enable substreams on our HikiVision cameras.
The configuration seems to be different than on the Dahua screen shots.

In Configuration>Video there is is a drop down for "Main Stream (normal)" and "Substream", but when I change to Substream is just changes the settings below. So it seems an either/or rather than being able to enable the 2nd stream

Any insight?

Thanks

What model Hik camera are they ? You may find that the dual streams are already set up in the camera, and then you need to set the sub-stream up in the BI5 screen like Terk shows.

I updated to Blue Iris 5.4 last night and updated DeepStack then switched to the built-in DeepStack integration today and now my CPU hardly even registers and my RAM usage dropped from 70% to 23% we'll see where the RAM usage is in a few days as it used to start out around 53% and go up to 70%, but the CPU would be consistently at 33% or higher. Now it doesn't even register it's so low, and that is with all but 4 of my 16 cameras recording 24/7.

I'm missing a step.

In BI I see where to enter the sub feed path... but where do I get that path/URL from?

The path/url? That's been my question also.

I think it may be listed in 'Find/Inspect'. In my cameras, sometimes the field did not get populated. Don't know why.
When I clicked the drop down, there was a path.

Sometimes it's a bit of a guessing game or takes some online research. Usually it's based pretty much on the same syntax as your main stream (which I assume is already loading if your cameras are working). A lot of times the URI will say 'stream1' or 'stream11'.... try incrementing it to 'stream2' or 'stream12'. Click ok and check if it's working/running. You're not going to make things worse. But yeah, it's tough sometimes because of the non-standardization with camera vendors.

Hello again, I'm posting some screenshot with the hope that someone can help me setup sub streams.

Logged into the Hiki camera, The first image is what I see when the main stream is selected
The 2nd photo is what I see when I select "sub stream"
Obviously, the 3rd image is from the BI interface, I need to know what to put in the "sub stream"

Thanks!
